St. Mark Preschool is a great place for children because we offer…
· excellent preparation for Kindergarten—our preschool is very focused on empowering children in their development of social and academic skills that will help them be successful in kindergarten.
· excellent, well-educated, gifted teachers—Our teacher has been and will have a degree in early childhood or elementary education. Since our preschool provides training and preparation for success in school, we expect our teacher to be well-trained for the task.
· a well-structured, well-balanced program—As serious as we are in preparing children for school, the atmosphere is fun and lively too. In the past, we have taken field trips, held an annual Thanksgiving Feast, participated in charitable events such as the St. Jude Hospital Trike-a-Thon, and made the ever popular “Stone Soup”. Learning is fun at St. Mark Preschool!
· development of both social and academic skills—Children simply do not show up to kindergarten on the first day ready for such a big change. St. Mark Preschool helps your child get ready for kindergarten by helping them prepare emotionally AND academically.
· a wholesome Christian environment that is respectful of and teaches respect for the Christian faith of others—We are unabashed about our commitment to a Christian environment with regular chapel services that are very respectful of other Christian commitments.
· a half day Tuesday/Thursday program open to potty trained three year olds who develop social skills and prepare for school by learning to be away from home for a half day while enjoying an introduction to concepts such as letters, numbers, and shapes.
· a full day Monday/Wednesday/Friday Pre-K program open to 4-5 year olds who are introduced to math, writing, and problem solving skills needed in kindergarten
· a two part program supportive of both child and student as teacher/child relationships build upon experiences from one year to the next and as children grow from the three year old to the Pre-K program
· a supportive environment for an excellent teacher who is encouraged to use their skills to challenge students
· an affordable program
